1. They both meet the criteria or fulfill the assignment. Although, it would have been nice to see more of your face in "Spacing out." Spacing out can, probably, be achieved even when you're facing the camera.
2. In "Finals studying," I can definitely relate to. Trying to get everything finished for finals and feeling exhausted or overwhelmed. "Spacing out" is pretty much the opposite of "Finals studying." The scene and the poses are very serene and calming to look at. I also enjoy the simplicity of the piece, even though the minimum requirement is four selves.
3. There are no real technical issues that seem to bother me. I enjoy the motion blur in "Finals studying" and the lens flare on the two figures in "Spacing out." It makes the pieces feel more natural to me.
4. Even though both pieces have good things about them, I'm leaning towards the "Finals studying" being a more successful piece. As mentioned in #1, it would have been nice to see more of your face in "Spacing out." I've noticed that even when a person isn't looking straight at you they still reveal something about themselves. That would have been really interesting to see and experiment with.
1. Both meet the criteria. The spacing out picture could of used more excitement and wonder instead of all the self's being the same thing.
2. Everyone know what final studying is all about. There is trying to cram everything in at one time yet a little bit of procrastination here and there. In spacing out, it shows how you would be at a calm situation, not a stressed situation like in the other picture.
3. There's are no major technical issues with both of them. You seem to have spaced them out evenly and not super close to each other.
4. I think the final one is the most successful because you can see more of the face and the reader can more from one self to another. Each self is doing something different and I feel that its the most interesting.
1. They meet the criteria, although we cannot see your full body in the first picture. 2. The first one to me looks like Adam just hanging out and killing time. Maybe working on homework or browsing the internet. I really like the second one. Although you can't see your face in any of them besides one, I think it sends a more powerful message than if we were to see your face in all of them. I think that the body language gives us more to think about. Especially with your expression in the body that we can see. I think the spacing of yourself sends a message too. Like maybe sometimes you feel alone, and then sometimes you feel closer to others, or something of that nature. 3. I do not see any technical issues. 4. I think that the second photo is the more successful of the two. It not only looks more constructed, but looks like the artist wanted to make us think deeper.
I also meant to mention that I like that you are in different clothes in the second one. Makes it seem like it is an actual overlap of different days/occasions instead of you walking around the room.
2. I like that the both reflect the common struggle that all of us students have to maintain study even though many people would rather not and just space out. I know I usually have trouble and space out instead of getting homework done.
I also enjoy enjoy that you didn't show your face in Spacing out because it further emphasizes that you are zoning out of the real world and gives me a feeling that you could be standing outside, just taking the world in.
3. These photographs are technically correct, however I did not want to see the sunspot, it seems a tad bit cliche. Besides that, they are very good Adam.
4. Spacing Out is stronger because it evokes emotion that we all can relate to.
1. Both of these images definitely meet the requirements for this assignment -- 2 scenes, 4 selves each. And they both give us a glimpse into a part of your life, whether it be as a student (photo one) or as something a little more complex (photo two).
2. For me, I think these images are communicating two separate ideas. The first image is showing something we all can relate to -- a stressful, busy student life. I really do feel like it shows the stress and exhaustion we all feel around finals time (especially the character of you crashing back on your bed). Since you wore the same outfit throughout the image, I feel like this might be a timeline of sorts and the motion blurred figure helps make it feel like you are transitioning (frantically, perhaps?) between the tasks. The second image is a little less obvious, and I think it's perhaps a more emotionally complex scene. It's a photograph that makes you think. We can only see your face in one of the figures, and I think that adds a great deal of mystery to the other figures. What are their expressions like? What are they feeling? What are they looking at? Who knows! But the body language, as Marlena said, is very calm. In the one face we do see, there's almost a look of concern. It's interesting. Combined, the figures that are facing away, looking out into what appears to be a sunset, give me a sense of reflection. Like maybe they are thinking about the future or the past or anything really (great thing about photography -- it can be interpreted in so many different ways)! I'm really interested to hear what your intentions were for this one!
3. There are no technical errors as far as I can tell. Like Marlena said, perhaps another figure facing the camera in "Spacing Out" but it's really hard to say because that might change your intended meaning. I love the way the figure on the far left is posed. It would have maybe been a little more interesting to see a different pose (the two figures in the middle are very similar). Oh! And it might just be my Internet browser, but I was unable to view your "Finals Studying" image any larger. I think there's a lot of detail in that photo that we're missing out on because the image is so small.
4. Overall, I think you did a great job on this assignment, Adam! Well done! Both images show such great contrast that it's hard for me to pick one image over the other, but for me, I think your most successful image is "Finals Studying." The environment is really interesting (I assume this is your room?), and they say that you can learn a lot about a person just by looking at how they organize their space and the objects with which they surround themselves. But there is a very fluid sense of movement in the image for me and there's a good connection between each of the activities. It's also something I think all of us can relate to!
1. I feel that the image meets all of the criteria and has a creative way of expressing the artist’s vision of the project. 2. In finals studying the artist is expressing an emotion that I understand because of how studying for finals makes you feel. In spacing out I take it as an interpretation of how the artist feels when he is alone. 3. The only thing I would think to address is in finals studying it seems one image is blurred from movement. Other than that it is constructed well. 4. 4. I think that finals studying was the most successful because it is a feeling I also understand and constructed well.
1. These photos meet the criteria of the assignment. 2. "Finals Studying" is relatable to everyone in high school and college. It portrays the hectic and overwhelming nature of studying for finals. In "Spacing Out" Adam seems to be zoning out and just watching the world go by. I can relate to this and do this quite frequently. 3. In the first photo I think it would be better if you could see Adam's entire body as he is laying on the bed. 4. Out of both images I honestly enjoy "Spacing Out" more i just think the tranquil nature of the photo really portrays the idea.
1. I believe you did a very good job in meeting the criteria for the assignment. There are two very different images but I think we can all relate to both of them in our own way. 2, Final Studying is something we all go through and wish we didn't have to go through and it expresses the idea that no matter what we will have to endure it by the end of the semester whether we want to or not. 3. Spacing out really seems to capture the idea you are trying to portray and it brings the slightest since of wonder to the audience. We want to know why you are spacing out what led you to become zoned out. 4. I believe the best one is the Finals studying because it was contruscted well, its meaningful to you and also to the audience having experienced some type of studying whether it be now or present or past.
1) You did amazing meeting the criteria for the assignment. 2)The final one gives the most variety within the two photos… it really shows who you are as a person but putting yourself in your own room. We all know that horrible feeling of stress we get during finals. 3) I would of liked to see more variety in your "spacing out" photo.. You meet the criteria but i just feel you could of done more with the picture. 4) The finals photo is the better of the two.. because of the variety.. They are both great photos! You have grown a lot as a photographer.
2) I think more effort was put into the creativity on the first one. The character in the center pacing around, looking a bit lost about what to do, is what really drove the message home for me. I think that's a feeling anyone gets when stressed out, knowing you need to be doing something, but thinking too much and doing nothing.
3) I didn't notice any technical issues. Even with the two characters in the center of the second photo overlapping. Nicely done there. On the first photo it would have been nice to see the far left character's face, but I'm sure the space of the room is what limited that.
4) I enjoyed the first photo, Finals, more than the second. I think there was more of a message and feeling being portrayed in that one.
